Air Quality Consultants formed part of the project team, led by the Colchester-based consultants Lawson Planning Partnership Ltd, which achieved planning approval, in 2011, from Babergh District Council, for the construction of a new £10m health centre. The new health centre will replace Sudbury’s four existing community hospitals, clinic and GP surgeries.
The air quality assessment provided a review of existing air quality conditions, and completed a detailed dispersion modelling exercise to determine air quality conditions in the future, taking account of the additional traffic that the health centre would generate. The assessment also took into consideration potential cumulative effects associated with development on adjacent land, and the potential for odour impacts associated with the nearby industrial estate.
