Richard has over 25 years’ experience in providing specialist environmental permitting support to UK industrial businesses and installations and provides a lead role in the advice and management of Environmental Permitting.

Richard has managed and directed the preparation of full Environmental Permit applications, variations and surrenders for a wide range of complex industrial and power installations, as well as preparing derogation requests, BAT justifications and Cost-Benefit Assessments for existing facilities against the requirements of the Industrial Emissions Directive and updated BAT Conclusions. Richard started his career at the Environment Agency, providing 9 years’ experience as an environmental regulator inspecting waste and industrial facilities and responding to incidents, providing Richard with invaluable experience and insight when liaising with regulators on behalf of AQC’s Clients.

Richard brings a clear understanding of the regulatory landscape and processes associated with Environmental Permitting, based on over 25 years’ experience as a regulator and consultant. Richard has been able to apply this experience across a wide range of industrial activities, including data centres, combustion plant, food & drink, energy from waste and chemical and pharmaceutical manufacture and has delivered successful permit applications across all UK jurisdictions

I have found the staff at AQC to be very friendly and helpful when carrying out assessments on our behalf.
